Hello everyone! It’s Yui Oku here with a new layout using the Go the Scenic Route collection by Paige Evans. I’m so happy to share my first layout with you!
I love making layouts with a big title cut file as the main focal element. This time I chose the “WANDERLUST” cut file by Paige Evans because this collection is travel-themed. I chose photos taken at the airport lounge when we were going on our honeymoon.
I have a few different methods for backing a cut file:
・with a colorful patterned paper
・using different colored patterned paper for each letter
・making fringe strips with paper
But this time I wanted to try a new way! I came up with changing the color at each brush stroke.
First, I gathered various color papers from this collection: red, pink, orange, yellow, green, light blue, and blue. I decided to divide the colors into warm and cool for each letter. Yellow is included in both.
“U” and “S” are one stroke, but I wanted to make a more colorful layout so I changed the color in the middle. “D” and “R” have large spaces, so I backed them with photos.
To add dimension, I popped the cut file on foam adhesive. I love how this title turned out!
Next, I went through the patterned papers in the collection to choose the background and decided on Paper 21. The colorful words matched my colorful title. Now it’s time to add embellishments! I fussy cut cute travel icons from Paper 6.
I placed them with the tone-on-tone method. I chose simple patterned paper to back the cut file, so these small icons became pops of interest. The globe and big map are from Paper 1.
I really had fun making this layout! Thank you for stopping by today. I hope I could inspire you in some way!
