Tie DIY Scrapbook Mini Album and Mask by Victoria Calvin

Hello friends! It’s Victoria (@victoriamariescraps) and I am back with a fun project using the Tie DIY Kit, a collaboration with American Crafts and Michaels. If you enjoy all things tie dye, this is the kit for you! For today’s project, I created a tie dyed cover for a 6×8 inch mini album and a mask using the kit. The kit includes a set of 18 pre-mixed dyes, plastic gloves, rubber bands, and a drop cloth that is perfect for creating a variety of tie dye projects, from t-shirts to tote bags.

To begin, I created a cover for a 6×8 inch album that I had stored in my scrapbooking stash. Using a plain white cotton cloth and some of the pre-mixed dyes from the kit, I tie dyed the white cloth and left it to dry overnight per the kit instructions. Once dried, I ironed the cloth to smooth out the wrinkles and trimmed the cloth to the size of my album.

Once trimmed, I wrapped the cloth around the cover and secured it using hot glue.

Once adhered, I added die cuts from the Late Afternoon collection by Amy Tangerine. The cluster of embellishments adds a ton of interest to the cover and can be displayed as a decorative fall element in my craft studio!

For the next project, I created a tie dyed face mask! After applying the dye in various shades of blue and purple, I let the mask sit overnight then used an iron to remove the wrinkles. You can use the kit to make custom face masks for yourself, family, and friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to grab a Tie DIY Kit today and see what fun tie dyed creations you can make!
