Star Shine Layout

StarsShimelle

Whimsical and colorful, that’s what I think when I see Shimelle’s new collection Little by Little. The icons and bold color palette are versatile for telling any kind of story. I especially love the washi tape with it’s rows of hand drawn characters remind me of a storybook.

Combining a scattered star cut background and Little by LIttle is perfect for framing out this photo. It celebrates a forgotten every day moment of jumping on the bed! My favorite piece from this collection is the washi tape with it’s rows of hand drawn characters. It reminds me of a storybook. Here I used it in three rows just under the photo to highlight the area.

StarOverview

To make the star shapes really pop, I used the Vicki Boutin art crayons to give them a glow. Simply color in a shadow just around the star cutouts, then use a waterbrush to soften the crayon line. Allow the wet crayon to dry, then back each star with patterned paper. It’s as easy as that to create a halo effect around any die cut negative.
