Hiya! Jamie here and one of my favorite places in the world is Palm Springs! I got to spend my 30th birthday there and it was an amazing and relaxing visit.
When I opened up my American Crafts box and saw Amy Tangerine’s On a Whim collection I instantly knew it would be perfect to document this trip. I’m pretty sure Amy must have got her inspiration from a visit there!
I created this mini 4×4 sized to fit into a binder from We ‘R Memory Keepers. It’s a pretty photo heavy mini with embellishments scattered in. For the title page I used two page protectors. On the first, I adhered this oh-so-awesome puffy camera and used transparent letter stickers to spell out my title. This flips up and the second is a pool side photo that I mounted on patterned paper. Then I added two palm tree stickers directly to the top of the page protector.
I only wrote a paragraph of journaling and included it on the second spread. I hand wrote the date in white ink and decorated the lines of that patterned paper with washi tape.
I like adding little elements outside of the page protectors. In this case, I included two embellishments to the rings. One is the donut puffy and the other is a swan I cut from patterned paper. They were completely perfect! You can kind of make out in the photo that there was a swan and donut floatie in the pool.
I added die cuts and stickers directly to the photos or page protectors. Since my photos were so large it was the best way to do it. I also backed all of the photos with patterned paper. I like that you can see just a tiny bit behind each one.
The last page protector holds some ephemera—a map of the hotel we stayed at. I couldn’t not use this awesome Saguaro cactus die cut to dress up this page!
