Hello American Crafts friends! It’s Terhi Koskinen here with you today, sharing some new ideas for Halloween scrapbooks. Usually Halloween is captured in our albums with dark colors, bunches of spiders, and at least couple of bats, but I decided to think outside the box this year.
Last year we celebrated our daughter’s birthday a bit late, at the end of October. As I had tons of halloween decorations covering my worktable, she insisted to change her birthday theme from cats and rainbows to all things creepy and scary. I understand that the huge black spiders are only paper, but still each time I turned my head and saw something with eight legs… Let’s just say I prefer animals like dogs and horses, instead of any bugs.
Surely even these spidery birthdays had to be captured somehow. As there are no rules for scrapbooking, I skipped the idea of black, orange and purple, and preferred the sweet colors from the Marigold collection. To create the base for the layout, I cut and backed a Leaf Wreath cut file by Paige Evans and adhered it on white cardstock. Then I fussy cut all the cute things like bows, animals, birds, and flowers from Marigold patterned papers and added them to the layout. Finally, I finished the layout with some black splashes of ink and I also added couple of spiders here and there. Can you see all three of them?
Thanks for stopping by!
