Making Stunning Coasters with Color Pour Resin by Victoria Calvin

Hello friends! It’s Victoria (@victoriamariescraps) and I am back with a really fun project using the American Crafts Color Pour Resin! Resin is a fantastic material that can be used to make a variety of projects from jewelry and paper weights to home decor and more! For my project I used the We R Memory Keepers Mold Coasters and AC Color Pour Resin to create a set of stunning coasters.

Using resin is part art and part science. To begin, I mixed 1 part Resin and 1 part Resin Hardener from the Color Pour Resin Collection. Both the resin and the hardener are needed to produce a harden (cured) project.

Before pouring the resin into the mold, I added Color Pour Resin Crystal Flakes for added sparkle and shine! And for a bit of color, I layered Color Resin Pour Opaque and Translucent Dyes. TIP: Be sure to cure each layer of resin for 1 hour before adding additional layers – this will ensure that the layers will not mix or bleed.

There are a variety of mix-ins that can be used with resin to include glitter, rocks, alcohol ink, acrylic paint, and more! It’s so much fun to experiment and play! For two of the coasters I layered opaque dyes and crystal flakes.

For the third coaster, I used translucent dyes and crystal flakes. There are many combinations of dyes and mix-ins that can be used to create stunning resin projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to try Color Pour Resin – the creative possibilities are endless!
