Hello everyone! It’s Zinia here and I’m super excited to join you today and share my very first post as a design team member. This week we are focusing on the new BOOtiful Night collection from American Crafts which is a lovely and fun line full of whimsical elements that will work beautifully on any type of project.

Today I’ll show you how I created this banner & wreath arrangement that will make a great decoration piece on your wall.

The first step is to prepare the banner pieces. I trimmed down some 6×6 sheets of pattern paper and some tangerine textured cardstock into 4×6. Then using the WeR Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board I turned the patterned paper pieces into banners and the cardstock into triangular flags.

To go on top of the banner pieces I cut out “trick” and “treat” from black and tangerine cardstock using the WeR Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board.

Now let’s start assembling the banners. On each pattern paper banner piece, I added two layers of letters to create a shadow effect. To make the top layer of the letters pop a bit, I used foam dots to add more dimension. I also added a few stickers and ephemera to make them more playful. For the tangerine cardstock flags I used some Halloween Spiderweb Doilies in black color.

I connected the pieces for each word together using some black bakers twine. This way I ended up with two separate banner pieces one for each word. To put the two pieces together, I decided to make a wreath to go in the middle.

To create the wreath I started with a circle cardboard piece to hold everything together. I covered the middle area with a 6×6 piece of paper and used the beautiful thickers from the BOOtiful Night collection to spell the word “or”.

Then I grabbed all the leftover scraps from the banners and letters as well as a few extra pattern papers and freehand cut them into leaf shapes. To attach the leaves I used the Sticky Thumb hot glue gun to make sure they will stay in place. I also mixed in a few pieces of the Halloween Spiderweb Doilies to make it extra “spooky”.

So that’s it for today. I really hope you enjoyed this fun little project and you got inspired to make some DIY Halloween decorations with the BOOtiful Night collection.
