Hello again! It’s Gail here to share a fun, Olympics-inspired project! We could all do with a little encouragement sometimes, right? Whether you’re an Olympic sportsperson training for a gold medal or (like me) your goals look a little different, a kind note of encouragement could certainly go a long way!
I’ve created a couple of cards just for this purpose, with a bit of a “gold medal” twist! I mean, who doesn’t love anything gold?
Inspired by the gold elements in the new ‘Saturday’ collection from Dear Lizzy, this first card features one of our favorite sayings in Australia: “Go For Gold”! I even used a mix of die cut shapes and punches to create a prize ribbon inspired embellishment! I was able to achieve dimension and interest by popping some layers up with foam adhesive.
For the second card, inspired by the idea of a gold medal also, I created a large circle shaker window with lots of fun gold sequins to shake around! For the sentiment ‘Dream Big’ I layered a mix of thickers and a typed word to fit on a gorgeous gold foiled tag also from the die cut shapes. A sprinkling of sequins on the outside of the card finishes it off perfectly!
One of my goals is to not just save card-giving for occasions such as birthdays and Christmas, but to spread a little positivity and kindness at any time. With these cards I’m off to a good start and I hope given you a little inspiration along the way!
