I adore how striking large photos can be and there is no reason we can’t incorporate them into our albums! They aren’t just for frames and walls. When I go big with my photos it gives me license to go big with my other elements as well. Like a large title or tag, or in this case, both!
The colors in this photo were absolutely perfect for combining with the Dear Lizzy Lovely Day Collection. So after about 20 minutes of shuffling all the pretty paper around I landed on that beautiful watercolor gradient paper which was subtle and soft but colorful enough to really make the layout pop. Love it!
I used that fabulous chipboard title to create the theme for the layout, which is a “what you’re doing right now” theme as well as a “make the most of your childhood” theme. I don’t want these two to grow up too fast and one way to capture those fleeting moments is to simply list what they are into right at this moment. It’s also a great theme to use when you’re unsure what to journal.
To complete the layout I peppered a bunch of sweet stickers form the collection around the page to balance out the corners and add some real fun to the layout. It is a layout celebrating childhood, so I felt a little over embellishing was in order.
Next time you snap a photo you absolutely adore, go ahead and print it as large as you like and scrap that large photo with abandon. It may just turn out to be your favorite page to date.
