Florals are one of my favorite embellishments to use on layouts. I love when a collection includes lots of floral patterned papers because there is so much that you can do with them. When I saw the Cultivate Joy paper from the Shimelle Little by Little collection, I knew right away that I couldn't wait to use the lovely flowers on it.
To create the base of my layout, I started by cutting my design using a visual effects background cut file from the Just Nicks digital cut file shop and white cardstock paper. Once my design was cut, I placed a dark blue patterned paper from the Little by Little collection (forest friends) behind the cut file to create my background. I used my sewing machine to stitch two diagonal lines down the center of my design.
Next, I used a pair of fine tipped scissors to fussy cut each flower out. Once I finished cutting out all the flowers I arranged them in an overlapping pattern across the center of my layout design. I used foam adhesive squares under some of the flowers to give them dimension.
To finish my design I added a small photo, some chipboard stickers, washi tape, date stamp, ink mist and buttons. I hope this layout inspires you to get creative with your own floral designs.
