Allison Waken (Blog: Allison Waken | Instagram: @allisonwaken | Pinterest: @allison_waken | Twitter: @allisonwaken) lives in a house of boys so we thought it'd be fun to see how she celebrates Father's Day! She made a banner with the DIY Shop line and has a step-by-step tutorial for you today!

Supplies: Chalkboard Pennant (66651) – DIY Shop, Shoebox (53335) – DIY Thickers, Silver, Gold, Brown Sugar & White Extra Fine Glitter (366605), WOW!, Juggling Paper (366757) – Day Dreamer

I used the DIY Shop banner as a base. To create 2 "spacer" triangles I wanted to have a glitter pocket but didn't want to pull out the sewing machine for the edges.

I used a sheet of plastic (you can use vellum or even an old torn page protector). Cut plastic about a 1/2" bigger than the triangle, wrap around, and secure the entire edge with adhesive. Repeat for the other side. You'll also want to be sure the point is secure. I just added a bit more adhesive there.Allison-waken-you-rock-dad-2 Allison-waken-you-rock-dad-3

Carefully fill the pocket with glitter.
To secure the top I decided to add a bit of patterned paper with plenty of adhesive to secure.
Punch holes in the patterned paper to complete!
To keep the banner simple but with a fun impact I used the customizable foam DIY thickers.
Add the string and the banner is complete!
What a super awesome banner for Dad to wake up to!
