Document Special Friendships

Hello again! Including my own friendships in my scrapbook layouts is so important to me. I document my kids and family events of course, but sometimes I want to remind myself that along with being a wife, mother and daughter, I’m also a friend.

I printed a selfie of a friend and I, grabbed the Saturday collection from Dear Lizzy and got to creating a special layout! There are so many gorgeous colors in this collection but for this layout, I wanted to focus on the softer, subtler colors.

Friends Layout 2

For the main design feature on this layout, I chose to use a quote that I love, that describes a good friendship perfectly. I cut it out of white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and added a patterned paper behind it show through.

If you’re ever stuck for an idea for a layout, this is a fantastic tip! Head to Pinterest and search for quotes that will go with your photo. I promise you will be inspired!

Friends Layout 3

I placed my photo on the right side of the layout, and added a few layers behind it. Again, I stuck to the softer colors along with white. I typed my journaling and trimmed it into strips to add above and below my photo. I used a mix of embellishments from the ephemera, puffy stickers and chipboard stickers to add subtle interest and dimension.

I want to encourage you today to make sure that you include you and your friendships in your scrapbooking. Take it a step further and add a meaningful quote to create a layout celebrating friendships that will make you smile!
