DIY Shop Layout by Eva Pizarro Videla

Hello everyone! It’s Eva Pizarro and I am thrilled to be here on the American Crafts blog sharing a fun and easy layout using the new DIY Shop tools.

This layout is very simple and you don’t need to use any patterned paper. All the background is done with the DIY Shop brayer and some ink pads.

Start by choosing your ink combination and roll the brayer a few times on the ink pad until one side is completely covered. Use the brayer to create small rectangles on your page. You can re-ink your brayer if it is necessary, but I think it looks nice with some less saturated rectangles! *Use a smooth cardstock for better results.*

Continue doing this for all your ink colors. For better results, I used the Sticky Gel Mat from We R Memory Keepers behind my page. The foam texture helped my brayer to roll beautifully!

Next, add your photo and embellish your page. I used a mix of stickers, Thickers and ephemera, all from the Late Afternoon collection by Amy Tangerine.

I also used my chalk applicators and my stencil ruler to add some details using the same ink pads. To give the shapes a smooth edge I used a pen and outlined the images.

The stencil ruler from the Late Afternoon line is gorgeous and has many beautiful images! It is perfect for planners and layouts.

And here’s a look at the final layout! The DIY Shop tools are so versatile! I love that I could create a colorful and fun background in seconds and using only inks and my favorite tools!

Thank you for joining me today and have a great day!
