DIY Countdown to Easter

The countdown is on until the Easter bunny comes to pay our home a visit! I thought I’d share a fun DIY countdown calendar using an old photo frame that my kids just love!

I grabbed the beautiful papers and stickers in the Hello Spring collection and first got to creating my countdown numbers. I trimmed simple bases out of white cardstock (approx. 2”x3”) and decided to use my We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board to create the numbers, using a different patterned paper for each number.

Here they are all done! I just love those fresh, spring colors don’t you?

I then created a base out of a piece of chipboard (5”x7”) and covered it with one of the patterned papers also. After punching a hole in the top of each number card as well as the top of the base, I used small binder rings to attach the numbers so they can easily be flipped each day!

It was so much fun embellishing the bottom section of the countdown project! I couldn’t resist adding that adorable bunny sticker and used some older glitter Thickers from my stash for the word ‘Easter’.

The finished chipboard piece then fits perfectly into an old frame I had (missing its glass). So the kids can turn the numbers each day, I haven’t adhered the calendar in place, it fits quite snug into the opening and is easily removed!

The finished countdown calendar is a fun addition to my Easter décor! I can see us pulling it out and enjoying it each Easter for years to come!
