Hello, it's Evelyn! I’m so happy because when I drop my son off at school I feel like I’m reaching a new milestone in my life! My son goes to school twice a week since he still in Pre-K1. So, to make keep him busy at home, I created this DIY busy book using flannel and a glue gun from American Crafts. Trust me. This book is also perfect for all kids, ages 2 and over.
I used the flannel as the book cover and then I just used my glue gun to glue everything down. It’s so easy and fast! In this busy book, it has a small notebook that fits perfectly inside the flannel cover. The notebook from the Hall Pass collection will keep kids busy for hours. My son loves to draw and is starting to trace his ABC's and numbers so it's also educational. The notebook can double as a coloring book, too!
For the cover, I used my glue gun to paste fun icons like a giraffe, owl, umbrella and doughnut. I also pasted my son’s name right in the middle of the book. By seeing his name spelled out, he will learn new letters and eventually recognize his own name!
If you open the book, I stored some pencils and a pair of scissors on the right side. This could also be a storage space for colored pencils or crayons! I also attached the wooden necklace in this space so my son can learn how to count the beads and identify colors.
Don’t worry, I still have some space for stickers as a bonus rewards for your kids! I also give him silver alphas so he can learn how to peel and stick into the notebooks.
Interactive enough, right? Create your own DIY Busy Book now!
