Valentine’s Day is hands down my favorite crafting holiday and I love that I can create with these products year round if I feel like it! For my first valentine cards of the season I was going for a very traditional feel and nothing says valentines like doilies!
Using my Silhouette Cameo and the American Crafts Valentine Paper Pad, I quickly whipped up these gorgeous little doilies in a number of different sizes.
I then played around with their placement on the card front until I was happy with three different configurations. I knew I was going to use those fabulous clothespins, so I needed to give the cards some serious dimension, which I achieved by placing some foam dimensional adhesive behind the central doilies on each card.
Once my doilies were placed and popped, I pulled out my beautiful phrase Thickers from the new Hazelwood Collection by 1 Canoe 2. These Thickers are gold foiled and stunning and were the perfect focal point for my valentines.
The sentiments each needed a little overlapping phrase sticker in order to give the card and feeling behind it, more depth. These little valentine phrase stickers were perfect for the job, and I’m thrilled with how many are left for my next cardmaking session.
Finally I grabbed some coordinating ribbon and thread from my stash, painstakingly made the perfect little bows, adhered them with the clothespins and added some small accents around the cards with enamel dots and some mini heart stamps.
Happy Valentine’s month from my craft desk to yours! I can’t wait to see all that you make with these fabulous products!
