Hello my name is Carson and I’m addicted to ink blending. Sadly, blending inks on every card can get a little repetitive so I’m always looking for ways to make my go to technique look a little different and a little more interesting. For this card project I decided to mix it up in two ways, first I blended my inks on the inside of the card instead of on the front, and second, I created a striped look to my blended area by masking with washi tape as I blended my inks.
I adore the new Vicki Boutin Collection and one of my favorite products are the stamp sets with matching dies. I absolutely love the large and varied sentiments that come in each set and the hand drawn images are so fun and funky. I used the Moth and Flora to create these cards.
These stamped images are fabulous for coloring in, however, coloring is not my strength, I can’t shade an image to save my life, but contrast is one of my strengths, so bright colors with black details saved the day!
To create the windows on the card fronts, I simply used some of my basic shape dies and ran them through my die-cut machine being careful to center them and only cut through the card front, not the base. The final touch was to add those perfect little black and white phrase stickers which are also from the Vicki Boutin Collection. They really play up the contrasted look of these cards.
Thanks so much for reading today’s post. Happy Spring crafting friends!
