Creating a Bright, Wreath Layout

Hello again! It’s Gail here to kick off a fun week dedicated to layouts on the American Crafts blog! I consider myself a creative person so I love crafting in general BUT I’m a scrapbooker first and foremost so layouts will always be my most favourite thing to create!

When looking through the amazing collection ‘Oh Happy Life’ from Amy Tangerine, my mind was already thinking of different techniques and ways I could use some of the items.

The gorgeous patterned paper “Good Morning” is covered in these bright colored flowers and immediately knew I wanted to fussy-cut them out for a layout!

I arranged them on my background cardstock in a circle/wreath design varying the colors and sizes. I started with the larger flowers and leaves and then filled in any gaps with the smaller flowers.

I left a space of the right side to add my photo which I layered with patterned paper to make it stand out more. As my photo was the main focal point of the layout, I added my title straight onto it!

To finish off the layout I added a few flicks of mist as well as some other small stickers as embellishments. The large open space in the centre of the wreath was perfect for my journaling!

A beautiful layout celebrating a beautiful friendship! I always find my favourite layouts come from looking at different ways to use my supplies! I hope you get time to create a layout or two this week!
