Christmas Explosion Gift Box by Erica Fields

Hello crafty friends! It’s Erica here on the American Crafts blog. Today I am sharing this adorable Christmas explosion gift box! Perfect to give as gift to a loved one for Christmas. Every year I try and make something handmade for gift giving.

To create this explosion box I used a metal die set but you do not need a die set to create an explosion box. I started by decorating the front covers with the Hey Santa Crate Paper collection. I chose the white polka dot and the adorable snowman patterns. I stitched on some of the ephemera pieces, made a rosette, then layered the ephemera and chipboard from this collection.

The next step was to decorate the inside panels of my box. I created a pocket on the inside and also made a tag to slide in the pocket. You can add your own special message or stamp a sentiment on the back. I then used bits and pieces from the collection to decorate each pocket.

The last thing I created was the small file folders using metal dies. I then added three mini boxes to each holder. I used my WRMK Crop-A-Dile to set the eyelets and wrap the twine for a closure. The last thing to do is to add my small treats and photos and this explosion box is ready to gift.

I hope that you are inspired to create one and give one as a gift this year. If you would like to see this project in detail you can view it my YouTube channel HERE. Thank you for stopping by! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
