Hi friends! Paige Evans here with a new scrapbook layout using my Go the Scenic Route collection!
This entire layout idea started with the photo. I took the picture of Jane grasping imaginary balloon strings with the intent to build the page around the photo. I started by fussy cutting a few rows of the hearts from Paper 4 and punched the hearts from the same paper found in the 6×8 Paper pad. To create dimension I folded each of the hearts in half and opened them back up. For the background I grabbed the pink B-side of Paper 16 and decided where I wanted the photo. From the point of her hand I drew a dot with a pencil.
Next I used my sewing machine with a running stitch and made a whole bunch of straight lines in a bunch of different colors of thread radiating from the pencil point to the edges of the layout. These will act as the “balloon strings”. I splashed watered down white acrylic paint and lots of pastel colors of watercolors across the stitching and let it dry. To make it really look like my daughter is holding the balloon strings I cut a small slit at the base of the stitching and tucked the photo up underneath.
For the title I used a few phrases and word stickers, all from the Go the Scenic Route collections, to the right of the photo and wrote journaling underneath. The final step was layering two floral die cuts under the left side of the photo.
I hope you’re inspired to create a fun layout based around this type of photo! Thanks for stopping by!
