All Wrapped Up: Christmas Cards

This is the year I’m bringing back Christmas cards! It’s Gail here on the blog today and I’m going to admit to you all that for the past few years, I haven’t sent very many Christmas cards! Gasp! Life got way to busy and it was something I had to let go of. BUT this year I’m making the time!

I’m off to a great start as I’ve been playing with all the Christmas products from American Crafts! Today I want to show you two completely different Christmas Card looks, using the same collection – All Wrapped Up! Take a look at these cards that are what I call the “classic” look.

Christmas Cards 1

Using the kraft tags as my starting point, I added a few of the wood trees to them and added them to the card front.  I used the green and the red diagonal stripe patterned paper as the card front itself, with a strip of gold glitter washi tape for a bit of sparkle.

Christmas Cards 2

To finish off I added a couple of wooden buttons to each (ties in with the kraft tags beautifully) and a gold ribbon bow to the top of the tags!

Christmas Cards 3

For the second look, which I think has more of a “modern” feel, I stuck to plain white card fronts.

Christmas Cards 4

I chose a few of the patterned papers from the collection and cut them into thin strips. For the first I arranged them in a patchwork type pattern and for the other I overlapped them vertically for a bit of interest.

Christmas Cards 5

Both cards were then finished off with machine stitching, a few flicks of gold and white mist, a bright colored ribbon bow and a few enamel stickers. The chalkboard stickers that say ‘Merry Christmas’ were perfect for the sentiment on each card and the chalkboard really reinforced the modern feel of the cards.

Christmas Cards 6

So now that some of my cards are made (and I can easily reproduce them too!) it’s time to write in a message and send them off! Hmmm. Which gets me thinking that my kids can probably help with that job! Good luck with getting your Christmas cards completed and mailed out! And I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
